The principal objective of the Fund is to promote and carry out activities connected with academic research and diffusion of knowledge in the field of history.
Other objectives of the Fund are:
- to promote the compilation, maintenance and development of document database for academic research in contemporary history;
- to enrich Russian historical and cultural heritage;
- to promote academic research in history;
- to disseminate historical knowledge;
- to promote the study, accumulation, preservation and development of Russian and foreign practices of historical research.
The activities of the Fund are:
- promoting academic and research programmes in history;
- promoting development and introduction of modern techniques of cataloguing and keeping documents, photos, videos, audios and other historical sources;
- promoting development of existing and new publishing programmes;
- arranging and holding congresses, conferences, exhibitions, presentations and other events, including international events, connected with objectives of the Fund;
- promoting academic, teaching and other activities aimed at preserving and enriching the traditions of Russian historical school;
- promoting maintenance of existing historical monuments and creating new ones;
- promoting and funding workshops, discussions and lectures on a variety of academic fields and advanced ideas in historical studies;
- promoting production and distribution of publications, movies, videos, audios, photos and other materials connected with objectives of the Fund;
- supporting events arranged by academic, educational and cultural organizations that meet the objectives of the Fund;
- improving interaction of government and non-government bodies in studying history;
- academic exchanges in historical studies;
- publications to promote the objectives of the Fund as stated in the Charter;
- international cooperation in history studies and dissemination of historical knowledge;
- other activities.
